ROOTBOT and CheStor collaboration: from competition to partnership and closure

2 min read

In late 2023 ROOTBOT briefly joined forces with CheStor — an independent Telegram chat administration bot (@Chestor_chat_bot) that started out as a direct competitor to ROOTWIN and ended up as a collaboration partner.

From rivalry to partnership

CheStor appeared in the community ecosystem in October 2023 as an independent chat manager with its own RP commands, customization, and profile system — and from the start it was seen as a rival to ROOTBOT: users in chat openly compared the speed and feature sets of both bots.

In early December 2023 that rivalry turned into cooperation: ROOTBOT and CheStor announced a collaboration. As part of it, the teams ran mutual channel boosts and joint promo activities to introduce each other’s audiences to both projects.

CheStor’s closure and the end of the collab

The partnership didn’t last long. On 28 December 2023 the ROOTWIN & FireBrute news channel officially announced the end of the collaboration — by that point CheStor itself had shut down, and the partnership no longer made sense.

Takeaway

The CheStor episode stayed in ROOTWIN’s history as an example of how rivalry between independent Telegram projects can turn into partnership — and how quickly that kind of collaboration can end once one side stops development.
