ROOTCHAT is where ROOTWIN stopped being a channel with posts and became a place people actually stay. News, bot betas, fights over rules, and “does this command even work” all landed in the same room.

In 2024 ROOTCHAT_OFFICIAL showed up in Telegram’s global search. Growth followed. In September 2024 a coordinated wave of thousands of bots tried to enter the project’s chats at once. The raid was stopped. After that, automatic moderation was not optional anymore.

What the chat is for

project news before it is a polished article;
live testing of bot features;
everyday talk among people who have been around for years;
events and the usual Telegram chaos;
spam defense that has to work at 2 a.m.

ROOTCHAT is listed as done in the product sense — it is not a shipping binary. It is still the social core. The Honor Code for admins (December 2023) and the staff ranks you see on the Team page were written because this room got large enough to need them.
